Katy Gustafson, MS, LCPC

My Philosophy

How we experience life matters. I believe that everyone should be able to live life joyfully! Being able to delight in who you are, your relationships, and family life is a beautiful and intimate thing. In my opinion, “joyfulness” is the feeling of freedom that happens when we experience life differently, when we turn the corner and begin to feel hopeful again. When we take care of ourselves, we honor our own person-hood. This helps us “show up” and be present for ourselves and the other important people in our lives. My hope is that therapy helps you access compassion, courage, and joy!

I am a warm and gentle therapist, who will affirm your experiences and celebrate your successes while subtly challenging you to reach your goals. I will help you acknowledge past suffering and thank the old ways of dealing with the past. We will work together to meet your present day challenges by learning new skills and ways of coping, while also creating space to understand how your personal history shaped who you are.
